Royal Cromer Golf Club has a challenging and breathtaking 18 hole golf course which is literally less than a five minute drive from The Old Coach House!
Royal Cromer was originally designed by Tom Morris in 1888 and immediately attained its Royal status through the patronage of the Prince of Wales. It has undergone improvements over the years by J H Taylor, James Braid, and more recently by modern architects Frank Pennick and Donald Steel making it one of the finest courses on the North Norfolk coast.
It is essentially cliff top in character with spectacular views and boasts all the features of a coastal course with a wealth of sandy hills, grassy valleys and abundant gorse and bracken. The signature hole, the 14th,has a fully operational lighthouse making it most attractive, but don’t be fooled by the scenery as it’s one of the trickiest holes on the course. The bracing conditions provided by the wind only add to the enjoyment of the round and make it a challenge to golfers of all levels.
Royal Cromer has a long tradition of providing a very warm welcome to visitors throughout the year and their dedicated green-keepers ensure that the course is always in the best possible condition. The clubhouse and pro shop staff are always on hand to ensure that your golfing day is memorable. They have excellent facilities and a wide range of menus to make your day complete.
